Course Overview

We often think about college as a destination: the culmination of years of hard work in high school. But when you zoom out, college is really another step on the journey to fulfilling employment. Ideally, students will progress from high school to college to the working world as smoothly as possible.

By starting early, your student can make smart decisions about college selection and major exploration, allowing them to skip additional and costly years of college. Space is limited. Register now (one spot per family).

Who will benefit from Charting Your Course?

This course is perfect for current high school students in grades 10, 11 and 12.

To get the most out of this course, students and parents should join the live session together and discuss what the student is discovering throughout the week. This course is great for students who:

Charting Your Course Includes:

Three live, interactive video calls with instructor Aaron Basko and hands-on exercises between sessions.

Session 1: Three Keys to Future Planning

Dive deep into the three key elements to planning your future after high school: your design, desire and demand. Learn how combining these elements is the key to smart college choices and a strong career fit. 

Session 2: Managing Your Options on the College Pathway

Build confidence in your ability to make smart decisions by learning about your decision-making style. Practice using it to build your custom list of career options and majors and learn how to handle being undecided.

Session 3: Tools for the Journey

Explore how popular career and personality assessments can confirm your career pathway and college choice. Learn how you can build a consistent brand that will make you an attractive candidate for future opportunities.

Charting Your Course Instructor

Aaron Basko is an author, speaker, and higher education expert. He will introduce you to the Three Keys Method for discovering your skill set, your guiding passion and the fields where you can use them to build a career. 

Aaron has spent nearly 30 years helping students discover who they are and imagine who they could become. In this three-session course, Aaron will help you build the foundation for moving confidently into your future. Designed for participation by both students and parents, the Charting Your Course curriculum is the perfect way for your family to prepare for the college and career decisions coming your way.

How does Charting Your Course work?

We will meet in an interactive Zoom workshop for three weeks with hands-on individual assignments for students between each session.

Charting Your Course dates are:

• October 29 from 8:00-9:15 pm ET

• November 5 from 8:00-9:15 pm ET

• November 12 from 8:00-9:15 pm ET
